After the holidays; it is time to cleanse your liver

Admit it, you have drunk more than you have planned to during the holidays. And by “holidays”, I mean all those parties you attended since the beginning of November, crying out loud… Sometimes two parties per day. And you feel like your liver is not very happy with all the alcohol intake and it is acting out a little bit.

Considering that your liver is the second largest organ in your body besides your skin and it affects everything: from your immunity, digestion, nutrient absorption, to how your skin looks, and more. It’s important to keep your liver happy and in full function.

Here is the solution to remedy that little problem… A couple of juice recipes for you.

Beets are known as a very traditional remedy for cleansing the liver. So the star of this first juice recipe is the infamous beet.

  • 1 beet (medium size)
  • 1 medium cucumber
  • 2 ribs celery
  • 1 handful fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 lemon, peeled if not organic
  • 1-inch chunk ginger root

Juice all ingredients in your food processor/juicer, stir and enjoy! Serves 1

Other well-known, go-to detox plants friendly with your liver are dandelion greens. And, combined with lemon, celery, and cucumber, they’re even more powerful. If you can’t find dandelion greens, you can substitute them with arugula or kale.

  • 8 stalk celery
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 lemon with peel
  • 1 lemon, peeled if not organic
  • 3 dandelion greens

Juice all ingredients in your food processor/juicer, stir and enjoy! Serves 1

Also, keep these juices handy and whenever you had one too many drinks from time to time, give a treat to your liver… It will definitely thank you.

Cheers!
