The Thanksgiving holiday takes place in November in the US, but the Canadian Thanksgiving is this weekend. It occurs every year on the second Monday in October since 1879 and celebrates the harvest and other blessings of the past year. Millions of people in Canada will be celebrating this important holiday with their families and loved ones.

I think this is one of the best celebrations of the year, because it reminds us of how fortunate we are, no matter what our conditions are. It reminds us to be grateful, to be generous.

Also, it brings families together around a big table covered with delicious roasted turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, roasted root vegetables, and pumpkin or a fruit pie as dessert. Nothing is better than enjoying a meal in our loved ones’ company.

So, this is a great time to catch up with family and friends. But also a good opportunity to share with those who are less fortunate, to give back to the community we live in.

Counting blessings and being thankful for them warms one’s heart, fills it with love and happiness. And sharing them with others magnifies the meaning. Doesn’t matter what part of the world you are, celebrate it with us. Think about everything you are grateful for. Express your appreciation to the people around you for their contributions big or small into making your life better.

Life is hectic but also short and sometimes we delay sharing our feelings with others far too long. Let us quit doing that and tell others why we are thankful for having them in our lives.

Having said that, I want to take this opportunity to tell you all that I am very thankful for each and every one of you, for visiting my blog, reading my posts, commenting on them and liking them. I love you all. You are the best. Thank you.
