A couple of statements that Dan Brown makes about love in his book “Origin” got my attention while I was reading it recently. He says; “Love is from another realm. We cannot manufacture it on demand. Nor can we subdue it when it appears. Love is not our choice to make.” He also says; “Love is not a finite emotion. We don’t have only so much to share. Our hearts create love as we need it. Just as parents could love a newborn instantly without diminishing their love for each other.”
In my opinion, both are very accurate determinations. If I take the first statement and analyze it, what I get is this: Especially if we are talking about romantic love, we cannot decide whom to love and whom not to love, while we cannot affect either the feelings of romantic love that others might have towards us. Being in love with someone doesn’t guarantee them to reciprocate our feelings, which sometimes proves itself painful. Our heart might be bursting with love for someone while theirs is bursting for someone else at the same time.
Limitless Love
Books are written, movies are made, myths are told about love because love is a strange emotion. It is very personal and hard to decipher. Though, the kind of love we are talking about here includes lust, infatuation, desire, passion, even obsession, which mainly appear as symbols to fill a void we have in our hearts.
But when we look at Dan Brown’s second statement, we see that it speaks about another aspect of love. He says here that loving someone or something does not limit our capacity to love another person, and another, and another. Because the amount of love we can feel is infinite. We can love our dog to pieces, while we adore our child and also feel the most romantic love for our spouse. We can feel love for nature, for birds and trees, and anything and everything we see around us.
The thing is, the more you love, the more you become loveable. The more unconditional the love you give gets, the more attractive you become. Which consequently serves as a perfect formula to captivate love from the person you feel love for. When you allow them to see how full of love you are towards everything and everyone, you will witness the law of attraction to get stronger. Give your love without discriminating, without limiting, without any prejudice and you will see lots and lots coming your way. Not only from the ones you crave love from, but also from other unexpected ones.
John and Paul would agree with you.
What about Ringo and George?
